German

Tag (that's hi in German)

So far this term all of the year 7 and 8 rooms have been doing German as their language to focus on. So far I have learnt how to count in German up to 31 and higher it has been fun and the videos we watched were funny but I'm not so sure if I will continue doing German in college. German has been fun and all but I don't see where it's going to help me later in the future (except if I go to a place where people mostly speak German.

Random things I have learnt in  German class:
How to say hi (Tag)
how to ask people their names (Wei heiBen Sie)
To ask and to say how old people are (Wie ult ist er if talkingto a man/ Wie ult ist sie if talking to a woman)
How to say goodbye (Auf Wiefersehen)

Tchuss (the informal way to say bye in German)

B-ball

In the weekends I go to a basketball club which is really fun!
It's where a bunch of usually Filipinos go to every Saturday to play basketball and to improve their skills. The people my age are usually a lot better at basketball than I am and that means that when I play against them I have to try my best to score the most hoops as possible. I use perseverance in basically every sport I do which helps me with my stamina and strength.
I think that perseverance is the easiest value to do because I think pushing yourself just that little bit can help you a lot.
The value I hind the most challenging is probably empathy because it's not so easy to feel the same way when somebody feels sad or angry. It may be hard but I try to do it anyway.

That's it for today!
BYE!!!!!!!!!!!

I READ BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, it's me again! This blog post will be all about the book 'the bad book'.

'The bad book' is basically a book with lot of little stories inside of it. One of the most memorable story was the one about a bad ant.  In the story ere some pretty repetitive words such as "the bad ant went up the leaf and then the bad ant went over the leaf and the bad ant went down the leaf" the bad book. 'The bad ant' story has funny pictures all around book so look closely at the pages to spot him if you read this book. I think I gave this book a 4/5 score as it's rating for my reading log so I hope you like it too! I also like how funny the book was. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of a laugh. If you want to know what else is in this book then read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bye!

Joshua's Wisdom Of The Past

Hi everybody, it's me again! This blog post will be about info I have learned in our topic time about the Galapagos.

Learning about the Galapagos has been enjoyable in this past term. I liked watching the movies about the Galapapagos Islands, evolution and adaptation. Just recently this term we needed to write an essay about the Galapagos and the animals that lived there. Right now we have to write another essay but this time about adaptation. I have learned that the Galapagos was actually created on a hotspot of molten lava🌋 and that the Galapagos can move meters within 30 years. Some of the animals in the Galapagos have ancestors that came from as far as Antarctica.

The Galapagos is an amazing archipelago ( or as I like to say it, ar-chip-el-ago)  that has awed people for many years (even me) . That's it for this week, bye!😎

Roles and Responsibilities

Earlier this year I sent a letter to ms Higgins to be a sports leader. Lickily for me I got in. Ever since I became a P.E leader I have pushed out the P.E cart for the other students. So far this year I had enjoyed coaching our year 4-5 cricket team and playing with the sports gear. Right now the only thing I find difficult is to come down to the shed in time, other than that I find my role quite enjoyable but it would be great if we could see one of our coached teams play sometime.

Financial Literacy Guy

This week on Wednesday day the financial literacy guy(Vane) came to room 8 to talk to us about how to be smart with money. As most kids know that there are limited options for us to make money. Vane helped us think about ways to earn money. One of them was to do extra chores on top of our normal ones, the second one was to get yourself neighbour-hood jobs and another one was to sell stuff or put money in your bank account so that you can earn interest. Overall I thought that the session was fun and entertaining And although I am not sure what my financial goal is, I found the session very informative.

Mission Fair

Last week on Friday, the year 6's to 8's made stalls for the mission fair. We raised money for a charity that was helping Vanuatu because of the damage that Cyclone Pam did. Mahon and I made a stall called Sugar Rush. Our stall was meant have a 'knocking down the cups game'.  Unfortunately, we were placed under the shade cloth instead of inside room 10 but we were forced to move to the end of the corridor due to the wind knocking down our cups. Fortunately for us, we had the great idea of changing our game to cup bowling. A few minutes later, we were making money. Little kids were our main customers, due to the fact that we were only doing a game and selling lollies. By the end of the mission fair our stall probably earned around $60. In the end, the only thing I would change is for us to be more prepared and to be in a different place.
