ANZAC Day

This post is going to be about ANZAC day.
ANZAC day was when the ANZAC's ships landed on the bumpy shores of ANZAC bay instead of the smooth beach of Gaba Tepe. There, the soldiers struggled from not just raining bullets but from disease. Thousands of people lost their lives due to bad decisions which led to a disadvantage but others believe that the battle was lost because of the terrain. The Turk's were just too ready for them. WW1 started 1914 and ended in 1918. In the 4 years of the war brought death to several innocent lives.

In class I have enjoyed learning about ANZAC day and WW1.
I especially liked watching the videos  and the visitor from the army. He told us that shrapnel was one of the biggest killers in the war and showed us just how big the shells were compared to an average road-cone. We will always remember the soldiers who died in the war.

EOTC Week reflection

HELLO EVERYBODY!  Today I will be talking to you about E.O.T.C. week. That was one of my funnest week of school ever!

On Tuesday, one of our activities was rock climbing at El Rancho. I got used to that eventually but the rock climbing at Ferg's Kayaks was really a challenge for me.  Their rock walls were almost twice as high! I found it really difficult to find grips for my feet and hands to go into since some of the handles were too far apart or had a weird shape.

I also found that walking on the rocks at El Rancho that led to the river painful because they were so spikey. One of the only parts of the week I found easy was just walking down Mt Kaukau.

My proudest moment would probably be when I finally got to the top of the first rock wall that I tried at Ferg's Kayaks since I'm not a very big fan of heights.

I had a lot of highlights throughout E.O.TC. week but my favourites would have to be watching 'An Awfully Long Adventure' at the theatrs because it was really funny and interesting. The second thing I liked was having all that free time to play on the laptops in room 11.

In general, E.O.T.C. week was not what I expected. It was much more fun than I imagined it would be!
